The areas of Bialowieza and Biebrza in Eastern Poland are known to many bird watchers. However these areas are still a magical world full of wonderful wildlife to discover.
Our tour starts in the forests of Bialowieza, some of the oldest virgin forest on earth. Taking tracks and paths carved into the woodland will lead us into the woodpecker capital of Europe, with all 10 species found in Europe available to us. Much rarer and elusive species also await us in the form of Hazelhen and Nutcracker and we may also run into the forests mammal species such as Bison, Beaver and Wild Boar.
The second half of our tour takes us north to the marshes of Biebrza. These species rich areas will give us great variety and some wonderful experiences. Eastern specialities such as Great Snipe and Citrine Wagtail are possible and so is signs of active migration around some of the areas fish ponds, which can attract birds such as Broad-billed and Terek Sandpiper.

Day 1 - Arrival - Drive to Bialowieza, evening bird watching in Bialowieza.
Day 2 - Bialowieza forest bird watching. Possible night walk to listen for Boreal Owl.
Day 3 - Visit to Lake Siemianowka. Drive north to Biebrza checking fish ponds for migrants on route. Evening bird watching around accommodation and possible
Great Snipe lek.
Day 4 - Explore the wild Northern marshes.
Day 5 - Explore the lush Southern marshes and fishponds.
Day 6 - Depart after bird watching in the Southern Marshes.
